Employee Spotlight

Dr. Brittany Ricker is excited to be joining the UMMC team as the instructional designer for the School of Medicine in the Office of Medical Education. Dr. Ricker has over 12 years of education experience. She served as the assistant principal at one of the state’s top elementary schools in Clinton, MS, for the last seven years. Dr. Ricker has a passion for education and equipping educators with the tools and resources needed to help learners be successful and grow.

Dr. Ricker received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi College; her Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education and also in Educational Leadership from Mississippi College; and her doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. She believes important traits for educators include being a life-long learner and being willing to reflect and grow from every experience.

When not at UMMC, Dr. Ricker enjoys everything Harry Potter, loves watching the 2021 World Series Champion Atlanta Braves, and serves on the Worship Team at Pinelake Clinton.

Dr. Ricker is thankful to be a part of the medical education team and to work with the staff, department directors, course directors, faculty, and students at UMMC and the School of Medicine!
